2 FIRES IN 24 hours

On Friday, January 17, at approximately 1400 hours, Truck 28 was dispatched to the 6700 block of Suitland Road as the working fire dispatch unit. Upon arrival, the first units observed flames emanating from a single-story tire shop. Truck 28 established a Rapid Intervention Team on side Alpha and was later tasked with removing the security bars from the windows. The operations of Truck 28 continued for approximately two hours before the unit returned to service.

On Saturday, January 18, shortly before 1000 hours, Truck 28 was dispatched to the 9700 block of Summit Circle as the second due truck. The initial units that arrived on the scene reported visible smoke emanating from a four-story apartment building and requested a working fire dispatch. Truck 28 undertook operations on side Charlie and remained engaged for approximately one hour before returning to service.
