pJust before 430pm on Valentines day the police radio lit up with activity. PGPD units were on the scene with smoke coming from a house at 7508 Newberry Lane in 48s first due. The Box Alarm was struck putting Engine 48 Truck 28 and Chief 48A on the road. Engine 48 arrived with smoke showing and reported a working fire. Truck 12 as first due truck opened up and cut a hole in the roof directly above the fire to clear the heat out of the attic and clear the smoke from the lower floors. Truck 28 arrived as second due truck and reported to side Charlie placed ladders and checked the area above for extension. Engine 48 made quick work of the kitchen fire and Chief 48A held 2 engines and 1 truck to check for extension and ventilate. Command cleared the scene in less than an hour. The cause was the stove being left on and there were not any reported injuries.nbspp
