At 0318 hrs Engine 28 with a crew of 8 men responded to the 6800 block of Farragut St in Landover Hills for the reported house fire. Engine 28 arrived simultaneously with Eng. 30 and assumed Second Due responsibilities. Units found a single story duplex with fire showing from the roof. Engine 28 stretched a 600 foot attack line and forced entry to the home. While the nozzleman of 28 was extinguishing the fire in the primary house one of the back-up men noticed the adjoining homes resident was still inside her home with flames ripping across the ceiling and quickly assisted her to safety. The men of 28 had the fire out a few minutes later and along with Truck 9 began overhaul operations.
