Just before midnight the tones dropped for the reported house fire on the 6400 Blk of Auburn Ave in Riverdale Heights. Engine 28 arrived first and reported a 2 story SFD with fire showing. The men of E28 quickly went to work to extinguish the fire. Crews were met with a strange layout with several hidden areas and rooms as well as hidden stairways. The house had been renovated several times resulting in many split-level areas throughout the home on all floors. Crews knocked fire on the 1st and 2nd floors as well as the several smaller floors in between. Engine 28 operated on scene for over 4 hours before returning to service.
