At 2245 hours the calls rolled in for a reported house on fire with possible people trapped on the 4900 blk of Taylor Rd in Company 9s first due. First arriving units reported fire showing from a house bringing Truck 28 and Chief 28B to the scene as RIT. The Truck crew consisting of 5 men arrived in minutes and went to work. The crew set up RIT on side A in the yard with heavy fire blowing from the 2nd and 3rd floors due to heavy wind conditions along with the below freezing temperatures. Crews were backed out after a while of pushing in without making progress to regroup and darken down the fire from the windows. Unable to make much progress due to the wind it wasnt long before the Truck crew ended up with a couple of hoselines. After finally getting the fire darkened down crews again pushed in and were able to mop up. Truck 28 and Chief 28B operated on scene for approximately 3 hours before returning to service.
