1:11AM: Just after 1:00AM the box alarm was struck for Box 1801 for a reported house on fire in the 10000 blk of Lansdale St in the Glenn Dale neighborhood. Ladder 28 was clearing a storm related incident just 3 blocks away and was added to the assignment. The crew arrived with the first due engine company and had fire showing from the first floor and attic of a single family dwelling. With reports of possibly people still inside the crew made entry and conducted a search of the home. In doing so an unmanned hoseline was found and a member of the truck crew began knocking the fire. All searches provided negative. The crew of 4 men continued to open up and extinguish the fire for 20 minutes before the fire was declared out. A fireman from Ladder 28 was injured when part of the roof collapsed. That fireman is OK and has since been released from the local trauma center.
