While units from 28 were packing up equipment, a loud crash was heard behind Engine 282 that was providing barrier protection from passing cars. As the crew investigated the loud noise, they found a State of Maryland traffic safety vehicle proving barrier protection and traffic signaling was struck by another car, just missing numerous State Police cruisers. The crew went right to work providing care for the State worker injured and the driver of the other vehicle. If it was not for the efforts of the Maryland State Highway Emergency Response Team and their help with protecting emergency workers. We could have had a serious situation on hand.

Many thanks to the hard work of Maryland State Highway Emergency Response Team, for a job well done. And a speedy recovery for your worker injured on 6-29-08.
