Just after 7p.m. on June 23rd Engine 281 was alerted for the reported apartment fire at 207 Lakeside Dr. in Greenbelt 35. Engine 281 arrived 3rd due to find heavy fire showing from the roof of a garden style apartment. Around that time the second alarm was struck. The crew quickly stretched a 400 attack line to the second floor and encountered heavy fire upon opening up the ceilings. The men began making quick work of their assigned apartment before conducting extensive overhaul operations and racking up.
